It's Monday again! Time to get saving :) As you may have already noticed I hate wasting money. I love finding good deals, and its not because I am cheap, but simply because I love being able to buy more things for less while having the opportunity to be creative. So today is about spending vs. earning. How many times have you loved something at a store and thought "I could buy this, or I could make this and sell it and make money?!" Yep, that's me, every day :)
So, about seven years ago my beloved mother and International painter, Angela Schiappa :) hand painted an beautiful T-shirt for me which I adore. However, years passed and weight was gained :( and as much as I cherished my T-shirt, I feared it was time to let it go. But I just couldn't bear the fact that my Mom's work would end up at Goodwill or even worse the trash!! So I decided to upcycle it! I found a book that My hubby gave me sometime ago that is filled with super awesome ideas to re-make old T-shirts (It's titled: 99 Ways to cut, sew, trim & tie your T-shirt) He got mine at our favorite bookstore Barnes & Noble.
So, anyways for this tutorial I used #5 except I'm not very good at sewing so I omitted the pocket :) I've posted the page for directions below I hope you guys enjoy it. You can use any t-shirt design, maybe even a vintage one. After you make it, consider selling it cause FYI the store bought tank below retails for $29.00 at Urban Outfitters!
